Renovated by Kate Lawrence Interiors, this contemporary Maroubra Beach Penthouse features a stunning curved island that pairs perfectly with the neutral tones and smooth lines of the space. Using Surround by Laminex Demi Round 20 in Dulux Lexicon Quarter, the gentle curves of the island add to the welcoming feel and usable flow of the kitchen, creating a space for entertaining and connection.
Paired with a Taj Mahal quartzite benchtop from Cav’art Designer Stone (shaped by Stone Lab), the intuitively designed cabinetry of the kitchen keeps all appliances out of sight, adding an element of minimalism to the home.
MID-CENTURY MAGIC.
A project by Nathalie Hailey Interiors shows the curving potential of Surround by Laminex in a magnificent new home in Mermaid Waters on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Using Demi Round 40 to emphasise and elevate the curves of the kitchen and hallway, the Palm Springs inspired home uses Surround by Laminex to accentuate the mid-century undertones, adding textural and tactile details that plasterboard or wallpaper could never do. Thematically, the use of Demi Round 40 ties the vertical signatures of the exterior and interior together.
Wrapping the curving ends of a large central island in Demi Round 40 complements the modernist arches and curves found throughout the home. The gentle repeat of the Demi Round’s convex loops never overpowers or screams for attention, instead cementing the theme of the home in a sophisticated homage to the period while remaining modern and contemporary; one can almost hear jazz and the clinking martini glasses of an elegant soiree.
